Going onto a military deployment is never easy. It is hard to leave friends and family behind and you also need to find a place to store your belongings.
This can be a worrying and stressful time so self storage shouldn't add to this. At Guardian Self Store we aim to support your move into our Storage Centre. Hopefully this guide will be of help to you.
Tips for Choosing a Military Storage Unit
What Size Do I Need?
Deciding what size you need is a problem that all of our customers tend to have. Mainly because what normal person knows what a 25-200 square foot unit looks like? We aim to make this easier and have created a storage size calculator to help you understand the spaces we have available:
If you are still unsure the best thing to do is give us a call or pop into our centre. One of the team would be happy to give you a tour and show you around some of the rooms so you can see the space in real life.
Do I Need Insurance?
At Guardian Self Store we require that all of our customers insure their belongings while they use our storage centre. We offer insurance at £1.55 per week per £1,000 worth of cover. Not only is this a practical measure to ensure the protection of your belongings, it is also more economical than having to replace all of your things should something unforeseen happen to your unit.
You do have the option to cover this yourself through your house / business insurance you will just need to provide us with a copy of the policy.
Can I Pay Automatically?
Paying your storage unit rent is the last thing you need to worry about when you’re stationed abroad.
That’s why we offer military members the opportunity to schedule automatic payments that pull directly from your credit card. All you have to do is speak with the manager of your facility to have this arranged.
