As a keen snowboarder myself I know the challenges of owning your own equipment. The bags are large, heavy and awkwardly long to carry / transport. All of this is fun and games when you are at the airport and you wonder if its all worth it while your friends are cruising through check-in as they are renting their kit.
You inevitably have the last laugh as this saves time on the first morning of the slopes while everyone else is fussing trying on boots.
After the trip, its time to put everything away for hopefully a year but sometimes a couple depending on when you can go next. If you are lucky you will have space in a garage to store this or maybe the loft space. But with skis and boards costing hundreds of pounds it needs to be stored properly and securely. Also due to the length of the ski's storage options are often limited at home.
